“Angelina Thrive works with existing non-profits, healthcare facilities, educational institutions, city and county governments, and community leaders to identify areas where our community can come together to improve the health, education, and financial security of Angelina County citizens, and then to develop strategies, recruit partners, and cultivate funding to implement change.”

What is Angelina Thrive?

Angelina Thrive is a collective impact organization focusing on health, education, and financial security. The need for the organization came from a recognition that our area’s county health rankings are among the lowest in the state. The reality is that improving the health of a county or region is not just about healthcare, it's about addressing all of the social determinants of health. Three overlapping areas of health, education, and financial security inform the work of Angelina Thrive.

Mission Statement

RoundTable

About RoundTable

Angelina Thrive believes that non-profit work suffers when organizations are not aware that other non-profits exist or understand what they are doing. In addition, local organizations can be handicapped by a lack of data when applying for funding. In an effort to address this, Angelina Thrive partnered with Thriving Cities Group (TCG) to create RoundTable for Angelina County non-profits. TCG describes it like this: “RoundTable is a tool that equips philanthropic investors with strategies and methods necessary for effective, equitable, and enduring community investment.”

Angelina Thrive implemented RoundTable to be a community inventory and strategic conversation catalyst. On the one hand, community conditions are detailed, made visible through data topics and indicators. On the other, community assets are mapped and linked to indicators so that everyone can see what other groups are doing in the community.

Nothing like RoundTable exists for Angelina County – until now.

By overlapping a community’s conditions and its assets onto a map, Angelina Thrive facilitates data-led conversations around challenges and what infrastructure is in place to address them. RoundTable is a resource for community leaders to develop strategies, rally support and participation, find or foster relationships across organizations and drive investment.

Fostering cooperative work and communication within the non-profit sector and between non-profits and other community entities will help ANGELINA THRIVE in areas of health, education, and financial security.
